Sebenarnya saya bingung mengapa lele goreng dan lalapan ini bisa disebut Pecel Lele dan puluhan penjual nasi pecel lele (atau ayam) berbaris di sepanjang Margonda Depok. Namun apalah arti sebuah nama saya pun berpetualang dari satu warung tenda ke warung tenda lainnya. Pecel Lele Lela sudah saya coret sejak pertama kali saya mencoba. Sama seperti Coffee Toffee yang ramai dikunjungi, saya gagal paham mengapa Pecel Lele Lela ramai padahal rasanya biasa bangettttt.

Jadi dari hasil petualangan saya ada dua warung tenda yang menurut saya enak. Pertama warung tenda Gembira (berada di seberang apartemen Margonda Residence). Menempati depan toko bangunan di sebelah Klinik Kecantikan Wijaya. Ikannya besar, digoreng dengan seksama dan sambalnya enak sekali.

Warung kedua adalah yang warung tenda Cak Gilang yang kebetulan mangkal di SSC Margonda di depan gang tempat saya tinggal. Sebenarnya tidak sengaja mencoba warung ini. Bagian dari petualangan tanpa berharap banyak. Ternyata enak. Dia menjual Lele Goreng Mentega yang sausnya saya jilati sampai bersih. Begitu juga Lele Saus Padang dan asam manisnya. Selain variasi pilihan rasa Lele Goreng, Warung Cak Gilang menawarkan variasi tumis kangkung yang tidak ada di Warung Tenda Gembira. Sebenarnya konsep ini lah yang ditawarkan oleh Pecel Lele Lela. Namun Cak Gilang membuatnya jauh lebih nikmat karena bumbu lebih berani. Sambal memang biasa dibanding Warung Tenda Gembira tapi dengan saus kaya rasa, sambal yang biasa terampunilah

Actually I am puzzled why people call this food ‘Pecel Lele’ not ‘Lele Goreng’ (fried catfish). Dozens fried catfish seller (or chicken) lined in Margonda Depok. Most of them are similar : rice, fried catfish, fresh vegetables and traditional chili sauce. Even though I am curious about the history behind its name, I take an adventure from one stall to another. From quite tent to crowded one. I have obliterate Pecel Lele Lela from my list since the first time I tried. Just like overcrowded Coffee Toffee, I fail to understand why Pecel Lele Lela is so popular while its taste is … mediocre.

So from the results of my adventure there are two stalls tent that I think is finger licking good fried catfish in Depok. First is Warung Tenda Gembira (located opposite the Margonda Residence I Apartment, next to Wijaya Beauty Clinic). The catfish is enormous, it is fried carefully and the best traditional chili sauce to be added.

The second is Cak Gilang who open his stall in front of SSC Margonda close to where I live. I was coming to this place unintentionally. For me, it is part of my journey without any expectation. It turned out delicious. He sold delicious Fried Margarine Catfish. Likewise fried Padang sauce catfish and fried sweet sour sauce catfish . In addition to various Fried catfish, Warung Cak Gilang offers a variety of stir-fry kangkung. Actually, this concept was offered by Pecel Lele Lela. However Cak Gilang makes it more mouthwatering because the flavor is more tasty. However his sambal is so so compared Gembira but with a rich sauce flavors, his regular chili is forgiven
